Over 10 years ago while struggling to operate with loose carbon-steel scissors, Dr. Jeffrey Lasner stopped
to ask why his traditional pivoted instruments so frequently fail. He noticed that the scissors splayed and
would loosen in the critical tip area under constant pressure. Taking this information into account, Laschal
introduced a new scissor, the MicroPoint™ Surgical Scissors designed to outperform and outlast all others.
MicroPoints offered a 300% greater shear angle than traditional scissors to cut tissue without crushing – all
the way to the tip. Today, Laschal has applied their patented technology to dozens of instruments for
micro-surgical and restorative procedures, all with the overriding feature of "stress relief."
